Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

CDC's mission is to protect the public and save lives. They get to use beakers and science. I get to do it with words.

I worked as the lead writer for CDC’s Injury Center, the Get Ahead of Sepsis campaign, the Viajo Sin Zika Travelers' Health Branch campaign, CDC’s HEADS UP Concussion program, and the Workplace Health Resource Center. I translated technical studies and statistics meant for PhDs, into plain-language content that would resonate with a variety of audiences and inspire behavior change. Responsibilities included campaign naming, developing creative concepts, presenting creative products to the client, and creating compelling, actionable copy. I current produce all campaign materials for print, digital, and social. After working on these numerous projects, I can confidently say that the only thing stronger than my work ethic is my hypochondria.
