4-County Electric

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) offered 4-County Electric a grant to provide lower-income, Mississippi residents with free, energy-saving, direct install measures. Our team developed the program brand and created the name: 4-County’s Extreme Energy Makeover.

I worked as the lead copywriter on this campaign and created all consumer-facing content. The challenge was to take technical and jargony program terminology and energy efficiency information into plain language content that would compel older residents to participate.

This liberal elite found a voice that connected with rural families in the deep south who were learning about energy efficiency for the first time. As a result, 4-County met their goal of serving 250 households and received more demand than they were able to execute during this grant year. 4-County will use this success case in their application for a larger grant from the TVA.
